Made to Order
Decorating is more than just painting, wallpapering, and putting furniture in a room.
Even if you’ve never made a conscious decision to choose furniture that reflects your character, everyone who enters your home will be able to learn a lot about you simply by studying the decorative choices you make. And nothing says more about you than the furniture you choose to adorn your home with.
You may be a minimalist, a fashionista, a romantic, a bohemian, or a futurist. But whatever you are, you will choose furniture that suits your personality and makes you feel comfortable.
Often, after trawling through catalogues and visiting plenty of furniture retailers, many find that none of the off-the-shelf furniture they can see matches what it is they’re looking for. It may be too big, too small, too gaudy, or too boring, or you may even be unable to find anything remotely like what it is you have in mind.
If this sounds like you, then it may be time to consider bespoke furniture.
There are lots of benefits to choosing bespoke furniture.
Handmade furniture is specially made by skilled carpenters. So, by its very nature, bespoke furniture is completely unique and especially to made to suit your individual needs.
This means that it will complement your overall interior design scheme (you can choose which materials, colours, fabrics will be used) and be made to the exact size you require – which is especially handy if you want something that fits an awkward or unusually shaped space.
Unlike flat-packed or mass-produced furniture, bespoke furniture will often be incredibly durable and have a long life due to the higher levels of carpentry involved – and it will arrive at your house fully assembled, so there’s no need to faff around with confusing instructions and missing parts.
0Bespoke furniture (in particular bespoke vintage furniture) is also a more eco-friendly choice, since you can choose to use locally sourced and reclaimed materials. Choosing bespoke furniture also supports your local economy, since you will be giving work to local talent rather than multinational corporations.
And, because you will be involved in the design process, the piece you commission will feel like it belongs to you in a very real way, and you certainly won’t see it anywhere else!
At The Vintage Furniture Company, we create bespoke vintage furniture using locally sourced, beautiful reclaimed pine.
Working with our customers, we create original pieces based on their exact needs. We talk to our customers in order to find out their requirements. We look at any photos or drawings the customer may have, and then create a design which, approved by the client, we then turn into a high-quality piece. We can also advise on finishes, materials, fabrics, etc.
Our customers are free to visit at any time so that they can see how their piece is developing, or, if there are unable to, we will send pictures so that they can see how their piece is progressing.
We offer two main types of bespoke furniture options.
We can create bespoke furniture from scratch. This means that, if you have an idea in mind, we can make that idea a reality. By choosing to commission an original design, you can attain a piece of furniture without compromise.
If you’ve seen a piece of furniture that you love but for some reason isn’t quite right (wrong size, wrong colour, wrong material, etc.) or that has since become unavailable, we can create a reproduction of that piece. We are often able to create bespoke vintage furniture reproductions of rare, designer, or antique pieces to meet your exact requirements.
We love creating bespoke vintage furniture. And it’s a thrill seeing the look on our customers’ faces when they finally get the piece that they’re after. If you’d like to find out more about our bespoke vintage furniture options, feel free to get in touch at email@example.com.
